February Blues

Here is my schedule for February..... BIG frowny face!! We are swamped as you can see. This schedule doesn't have classes and labs added to it because its strictly a "test schedule". Baaaahumbug! At least soon after this is Spring Break.

Here's to hoping February Flies Fast!!

Tupelo MS Flea Market

Saturday we went to the Tupelo Flea Market. Its a lot like the Anderson Jockey lot except there are buildings, and they are heated! They stay open from 8am - 10pm. Some weekends are special in that they have "Knife Shows," "Furniture Outlet Sales," and "Craft Shows." We just went on a regular ol' Saturday. We got lots of good loot. Most things were cheap and if anything else, it was nice to get away and do something fun. Tyler and I went with Cody, Juliana and Thiago.

Our Loot!
Don't miss the ring sitting on the cell phone charger! Very Pretty!

Close up of the ring.

We also got movies! For 20 bucks we got "DodgeBall," "Chocolat," "Step Up 2," and "The Guardian"

Wintry Mix Cont'

We ARE having school tomorrow. The "wintry mix" didn't stay very long and by sun-down it was about all dried up on the roads and trees. Oh well, at least I got one day out of it. The animals were extremely confused by it all. Below are pictures of Miss. Kitty and Mowgli. I couldn't get them away from the window.

Wintry Mix

This is what I woke up to this morning. The school canceled classes for today over this. I am very excited, but we are eventually going to have to make the classes up and considering we don't have much "white space" in our schedule now its going to be very difficult and time consuming....as in after 5 p.m. each day I'm sure. The snow on my driveway is very pretty, but its not on the roads. Its all just kind of mushy right now. We will have to wait and see what the verdict is for tomorrows classes; because it's supposed to get down to 28 degrees tonight!! In the above picture are my adorable rain boots I got for Christmas from my parents. The first time I got to use them was in the SNOW!!! :)

Pup Paradise

Now I know that all dogs should be inside, according to some views...however, since we have a Pit Bull, and a massive Lab/Chow mix; when we are gone they have to stay outside. Otherwise, we would come home to a disaster zone each time. You see, we have a small house that is perfectly cozy for us but not cozy enough for four dogs: two small dogs, two BIG dogs, a cat, and a bird 24/7. I assure you when we come home around 5:30 p.m., Xander (pit bull) and Daisie (lab mix)come inside, and go to their proper spots to be lazy and sleep for the night.

Until then however, they now have a new cozy paradise outside...deck and everything. Check it out!
p.s. Don't mind Xander's dog house (the one on the right) he gets bored and he chews on the house constantly....see what my furniture would look like???

Tyler found those palates at a dumpster and got the mulch from a nearby lumber yard! We got shavings from Wal Mart and put them inside the dog's houses. It's so nice I want to go out there and play. :)

Below is all his hard work......in 28 degree weather!

We couldn't get the truck up the steep bank beside our house to dump the shavings over the side of the fence (as the original plan stated), so Tyler improvised and got our outside trash can with wheels. He pulled it over to the truck, shoveled mulch in and rolled it over to the fence (on the other side of the house), then picked up the trash can and over the fence they went. I don't even know how many loads it took him to do this but it was a lot! The walls to the fence are also very high so it blocks wind. Now, I don't worry so much about my big ole babies and they have a nice place to stay during the day.

Semester Four

Well, It is about to begin, semester number four of a total eight. Judging by how the last semester went, I am pretty darn terrified of the surprises to come with this one. Classes involved in this semester include:

Food Animal Medicine & Surgery
Small Animal Medicine & Surgery
Special Species
Anesthesia and Pharmacology
Diagnostic Imaging
Equine Medicine and Surgery

No matter the terror, sleep loss, countless hours of studying, grueling class, and notes after notes after notes....I am VERY thankful to be here and even if I had a choice I would not be doing anything else. All I have to do is stay on top of the notes and keep up with the material. Piece of cake right?

A quick "look back" of when I first got here. I can still remember how excited and proud I was. Members of my family were so thrilled and we all were looking forward to the future. If I had known what was ahead I may have hopped the first bus back home, but now that I am almost half way through, and clinics are only four months away....its bittersweet.
